A counter is where a kitchen or bar is read, and a stone counter is the surface that signals a property’s level. A marble countertop on an island, a marble bar counter in a lounge or a stone reception desk is the luxury moment guests notice and remember — the natural veining of a single slab doing what no manufactured surface can. We fabricate these as contract marble counters and natural-stone worktops, cut and detailed for hospitality use rather than sold from a domestic showroom.
The counters are cut from the same quarry-direct Туркменский мрамор and natural stone we supply across a project, so a hotel’s marble kitchen countertops, bar and reception counters coordinate with its floors, vanities and cladding. We cut and finish each top on CNC and waterjet, machine the cut-outs for hobs and sinks, profile the edge, seal it for use, and template it to the cabinetry. The result is a marble counter made to the exact stone, size and edge a scheme calls for, in matched slabs across a long run or a feature island.
This is fabrication for projects, not a retail slab yard. Surfaces are selected and sealed for the working life of a kitchen or bar, edges are profiled to resist chipping, seams are planned where they will not be seen, and every piece is crated to survive international transit. Why Marble Counters
A marble counter is chosen for one reason above all: nothing else looks like real marble. On a feature island, a cocktail bar or a reception desk — the surfaces that are seen rather than worked hardest — the depth and movement of natural stone make a statement that justifies the spend. We are also straightforward about where marble is and is not the right surface, and route the harder-working tops to the right material. The case for marble rests on its look, its uniqueness, its coordination and its longevity when cared for.

The island is where a marble counter becomes sculpture. A marble island top with a waterfall edge — where the slab mitres at the corner and runs vertically to the floor — is one of the most requested features in contemporary hotel kitchens and demonstration counters, and vein-matched marble carried across the mitre makes the stone appear to fold around the island in one continuous piece. We fabricate the island top, the waterfall ends and any breakfast-bar overhang as one matched set, with concealed support for the overhang.
Because we work quarry-direct, we supply full marble slabs as well as finished counters — large-format jumbo slabs let us fabricate long counter runs and tall splashbacks with the fewest joints, and a bold or characterful slab can be reserved and laid out so the veining falls correctly across a feature island or bar. For a project that wants to select its own stone, we can present and reserve specific slabs, and supply them cut and finished to the counters a scheme needs, all from the Turkish stone we quarry.
Stone & Colour
A counter can be made in more than marble, and as a natural-stone supplier we offer the full range. White marble — Carrara and Calacatta — is the classic luxury counter; dramatic black and rich green marble create a bolder statement, and translucent onyx makes a backlit feature bar. Where a harder, more forgiving natural surface is wanted, granite is denser and more heat- and scratch-tolerant than marble, soapstone is soft to the touch and non-porous, and limestone suits a softer, matt scheme. We advise honestly on which stone suits which counter.
Finish sets both look and performance: a polished surface gives bright, reflective marble for a feature counter; a honed matt finish is softer and hides the fine etching that acidic spills can leave on marble, which makes it the sensible choice for a working top; and a leathered finish adds subtle texture. A stone countertop is more than a flat slab. How well it works — and how good it looks — comes down to the detailing: the backsplash that protects the wall, the edge that gives the top its weight, the support that carries the stone, and the cutouts for the sink and the hob. Every one of these is templated to the real cabinetry and the chosen appliances before a slab is cut.
The standard detail is a 6 cm (60 mm) upstand — a short strip of the same stone run along the back of the counter to seal and protect the worktop-to-wall junction. Where a project wants more, a full-height backsplash carries the stone from the worktop up to the wall units as one continuous panel, ideal behind a hob or a feature run and vein-matched to the top for a seamless look.
The visible edge can be built up far thicker than the slab. A mitred build-up laminates a return strip under the front edge so a 20 or 30 mm top reads as a substantial 40–60 mm edge, with the chosen profile — pencil, eased, bevel, bullnose or mitred — machined and polished so the joint is invisible and the counter looks solid.
Stone is heavy and has to be carried properly. The counter sits on the cabinet run with a plywood or batten substrate where the span needs it, and any overhang — a breakfast bar, a raised counter or a waterfall end — is supported on concealed steel brackets, corbels or a metal frame so the stone is fully backed and will not deflect or crack in use.
Sinks, hobs and taps are cut to template on CNC. Undermount and topmount sink openings, cooktop and hob cutouts and tap and accessory holes are machined precisely and polished on the exposed edges, and planned on the drawing so they fall clear of seams — an opening in the wrong place is where a stone top is most likely to crack, so the layout is engineered first.
Choosing
Specifying a counter is a balance of look and performance, and matching the material to the use is what keeps a kitchen or bar both beautiful and practical. In short: choose мрамор for the feature surfaces that are seen and admired — the island, the bar, the reception — accepting that it is softer and porous and benefits from a honed finish and sealing; choose a denser natural stone such as granite или soapstone for a tougher natural working surface; and choose engineered quartz for the hardest-worked, non-porous food-preparation tops where zero maintenance matters most.
