From the Quarry to the Installation

Natural stone is the oldest luxury material there is, and it remains the surface that tells a guest, instantly and without a word, that they are somewhere of quality. A marble floor in a lobby, a stone vanity in a bathroom, an onyx reception desk glowing from within — these are the moments that read as permanence and craft in a way no manufactured surface can imitate. We are a Turkish marble and natural stone manufacturer and contractor, and we deliver that stone for hotels across the world, from the quarry block to the finished, installed surface.

Working from Istanbul, at the centre of one of the richest stone geographies on the planet, we source Turkish marble, travertine, onyx and limestone directly from the quarries, select and book-match the slabs, and fabricate them on waterjet and CNC machinery into the specific pieces a project needs — Tables en marbre, countertops, Tops de vanité, plaque de sol et facade cladding. Every edge, finish and join is detailed in the workshop, approved on a physical mockup, and delivered ready to install.

Because we control the chain from block to installation, a hotel deals with one stone partner rather than a chain of quarry, slab yard, fabricator and installer. That means consistent stone across hundreds of square metres, a single point of responsibility, the ability to re-supply an exact match years later, and the option of full stone contracting — templating, fabrication, delivery and site installation — or supply-only to the project's own contractor. It is contract stonework, engineered for the realities of a hotel: at scale, to a deadline, and to last.

Pourquoi la Turquie

One of the World's Great Stone Countries

When designers think of marble they think first of Italy, but Turkey is, by many measures, the largest natural-stone resource and one of the largest exporters in the world. Sitting across one of the most geologically active and varied regions on earth, Anatolia holds an extraordinary range of marbles, travertines, limestones and onyxes in colours and characters found almost nowhere else — and it has been quarrying them since antiquity. The marble of ancient Greece and Rome, and of the great monuments of Istanbul, came from these same Turkish quarries; the tradition of working this stone is thousands of years old.

For a hotel, sourcing stone from Turkey carries real, practical advantages beyond the romance of that history. The sheer breadth of stone means a single country can supply the pure whites of a luxury bathroom, the warm beiges of a lobby floor, the dramatic browns and blacks of a bar, the world's reference travertine for a facade, and translucent onyx for a backlit feature — coordinated, from one source. The scale of the quarries means the large, consistent volumes a hotel needs are genuinely available, where a boutique stone might run out halfway through a project. And the depth of the fabrication industry — the cutting, finishing and engineering capability built up around the quarries — means the stone is not just extracted but expertly turned into finished architectural pieces before it ships. Turkish whites such as Afyon and Muğla stand directly alongside Carrara and Thassos in quality at a far better value, and in travertine and onyx Turkey is simply the world's first source. For a property that wants the prestige and permanence of natural stone without the cost and unpredictability of the most-hyped names, Turkish stone, sourced direct and fabricated locally, is one of the best decisions in the whole fit-out.

There is a supply-chain argument too that matters on a real project. Because the quarries, the slab yards and a deep fabrication industry all sit close together in Turkey, the stone moves from block to finished, packed piece without the long, fragile, multi-country journeys that drive up cost, risk and lead time when material is quarried in one country, fabricated in another and shipped in a third. Sourcing and fabricating in one place keeps the chain short, the responsibility single and the price honest — and it means a hotel halfway around the world is buying not just Turkish stone, but Turkish stone already turned into the exact pieces its drawings call for, ready to install.

Why Natural Stone

The Case for Stone in Hôtellerie

Natural stone is a significant investment, and it earns that investment back in ways a printed or laminate surface never can. The case for specifying real stone in a hotel rests on four things that matter directly to an operator: how it is perceived, how long it lasts, how it ages, and how it makes each space unrepeatable.

It Signals Quality

Real stone reads instantly as luxury and permanence. A marble floor or a stone vanity tells a guest the property is serious in a way that no imitation surface achieves, and that perception supports the rate.

It Lasts for Decades

Properly specified and sealed, stone outlives almost every other finish in the building, taking the traffic of a public floor or the daily use of a bathroom for decades rather than years.

It Ages Gracefully

Where manufactured surfaces date and wear visibly, good stone develops a patina and only looks more characterful with time — an asset that improves rather than depreciates in appearance.

Every Piece Is Unique

No two slabs are identical. The veining of a feature wall or a reception desk is one of a kind, giving a space a genuine, unrepeatable character that mass-produced materials cannot offer.

It Is Repairable

Stone can be re-polished, re-honed and restored on site rather than ripped out and replaced, so a scratched or dulled surface is renewed, extending its life still further.

It Adds Real Value

Natural stone is understood by guests and valuers alike as a mark of a quality build, contributing to the perceived and actual value of the asset over its whole life.

Against these, the practical considerations — cost, weight, the need for correct sealing and fabrication — are real but manageable, and they are exactly what a specialist stone manufacturer is there to handle. Specified well, with the right stone in the right place and the right finish for the use, natural stone is not an indulgence but one of the highest-return materials in a hotel, precisely because it is permanent, unrepeatable and recognised. The art is in choosing the stone wisely — which is where understanding the Turkish stone palette begins.

Capabilities

From Block to Finished Piece

What turns raw stone into hotel-ready architecture is the capability between the quarry and the site — the sourcing, the machinery, the hand skills and the project management. This is where a specialist stone manufacturer earns its place, and where the difference between a crate of tiles and a fully realised stone interior is made.

Quarry-Direct Sourcing

We buy stone where it comes out of the ground. Sourcing direct from the Turkish quarries — rather than through a chain of traders — means we can select the specific blocks and slabs for a project, control the colour and character across the large volumes a hotel needs, reserve material so a whole job comes from one extraction, and offer better value by removing the middle links. For stone sourced from beyond Turkey, our global sourcing network extends the same principle worldwide: if a designer specifies a stone from anywhere, we will find it, vet it and bring it into the project, or propose the closest Turkish equivalent. Sourcing is the foundation of everything else — consistent, available, well-chosen stone is what makes a large stone project possible at all.

Waterjet & CNC Fabrication

Modern stone is cut by computer, and our waterjet and CNC machinery is what allows precision, complex shapes and intricate inlay that hand-cutting cannot match. CNC bridge saws and machining centres cut, profile, drill and shape slabs to exact digital templates — mitred edges, sink and tap cut-outs, curved counters, calibrated tiles — with repeatable accuracy across hundreds of identical pieces. The waterjet cuts intricate patterns and brings together different stones into medallions, inlays and mosaics, the interlocking floor and feature pieces that are impossible to produce by hand. This machine precision is what lets stone meet stone with a hairline joint, lets a pattern repeat perfectly across a lobby, and lets bespoke architectural pieces be realised exactly as drawn.

Mockups & Sample Approval

Natural stone varies, and the only honest way to approve it is to see and touch the real thing — so nothing on a major project is committed without physical samples and mockups. We present current slabs and finished samples from the actual blocks reserved for the job, build mockups of critical details — a section of floor, a vanity, a bookmatched wall — and obtain sign-off before fabrication begins, so a designer approves the genuine colour, veining and finish rather than a photograph. This sample-and-approval discipline removes the single biggest risk in stone — the gap between the expected and the delivered — and it is why our clients know exactly what will arrive on site before a slab is cut.

Custom Fabrication & Architectural Stonework

Beyond standard products, much of what a hotel needs in stone is bespoke — a one-off reception desk, a feature staircase, a fireplace surround, a carved or profiled architectural element — and our custom fabrication capability is built for exactly this. Working from architects' and designers' drawings, we engineer and produce custom marble solutions and architectural stonework to specification, combining machine precision with the hand skills of experienced stonemasons for the carving, finishing and assembly that machinery alone cannot do. Whatever the drawing shows, our role is to make it buildable in stone, fabricate it accurately, and deliver it ready to install.

Contracting & Stone Works

For properties that want a single point of responsibility for their stone, we offer full stone contracting — not just supplying the material but templating, fabricating, delivering and installing it on site. Our teams measure and template the actual site conditions, fabricate to those exact dimensions, and carry out the installation, so the stone is fitted correctly, the joints and falls are right, and one party owns the result from drawing to handover. For projects with their own main contractor, we supply cut-to-size, fully finished and labelled stone ready for their teams to install. Either way, the property gets stonework managed by stone specialists, on programme, to a hotel's standards.

The Process

How a Stone Project Comes Together

A stone project runs through a clear sequence, and understanding it is the best way to see where quality is won or lost. From first enquiry to installed surface, this is how we work.

It begins with stone selection — understanding the scheme, proposing stones from the Turkish quarries (or sourcing a specified stone), and approving the choice on physical samples and current slabs. Next comes slab selection and reservation: choosing and reserving the actual blocks or slabs for the project so the whole job comes from consistent material, and planning the layout and any book-matching so veins mirror and run correctly across a wall or a floor. Templating follows — taking exact dimensions, from the drawings for cut-to-size or from the real site conditions for a contracting project — and then fabrication on waterjet and CNC: cutting, profiling, drilling, finishing and any inlay or carving, with quality checks at each stage. The finished pieces are sealed where required, then carefully crated and labelled by area and sequence for an orderly, damage-free delivery. Finally comes installation — by our own teams under a contracting scope, or by the project's contractor from our fully finished, labelled supply. At every step the work is documented and checked, so the surface that is installed is exactly the surface that was approved.

Quality & Care

Grading, Sealing and Living with Stone

Natural stone is a natural material, and using it well means understanding its character rather than expecting it to behave like a manufactured one. Part of our job is to specify and prepare the stone so it performs, and to set honest expectations about how it will look and age.

Grading and selection come first: stone is chosen not only for colour but for soundness, consistency and suitability for its use, with material that is fit for a high-traffic floor distinguished from material better suited to a feature wall. Natural variation — in veining, tone and the small natural marks that are part of real stone — is to be expected and is exactly what gives stone its character; we manage it through careful selection and layout rather than pretending it away, and we show it honestly on samples. Séchage is key to performance: porous stones, particularly lighter marbles, travertines and limestones, are sealed with penetrating sealers to resist staining, and we advise on the correct sealing and re-sealing regime for each stone and location. With sensible care — the right cleaning products, prompt attention to spills, periodic re-sealing and, every few years, a professional re-polish or re-hone where needed — a stone surface stays beautiful for decades and can always be restored rather than replaced. Specified, sealed and cared for correctly, natural stone is one of the most durable and rewarding surfaces a hotel can own.

Responsible Stone

Durability Is Sustainability

Stone is, in an important sense, one of the more sustainable materials a hotel can choose, and the case rests on permanence. A natural-stone surface that lasts decades — and can be repaired and restored rather than replaced — avoids the repeated manufacture, transport and disposal of the shorter-lived surfaces that would otherwise take its place over the same period. The longest-lasting material is usually the lowest-impact one over a building's life, and good stone, properly specified, simply does not need replacing on the cycle that manufactured finishes do.

Sourcing direct from the quarries also lets us work with material responsibly — selecting and using blocks efficiently, making use of the natural yield, and keeping the chain short and accountable. Stone is an inert, natural material with no off-gassing and no synthetic content, contributing to healthy indoor environments, and at the end of a very long life it is itself a natural material rather than a composite to be land-filled. For a property weighing the environmental story of its fit-out alongside its quality, durable natural stone — chosen well, used efficiently and kept for the long term — is a genuinely defensible choice.

From Quarry to Site

Fabriqué sur mesure, expédié À l'échelle mondiale

A hotel stone package is a major, coordinated order, and we handle it as one — from sourcing the right material through fabrication to delivery and, where required, installation. We work from the architect's and designer's drawings and stone schedule, source and reserve the material, fabricate to template, and deliver a complete, sequenced stone package rather than an unmanaged pile of slabs.

Stone is heavy and fragile, so delivery is engineered carefully: pieces are crated and labelled by area and installation sequence in purpose-built timber crates and A-frames, protecting edges and faces and letting the site install in the right order. Stone ships worldwide on an FOB ou CIF basis from Istanbul — as finished cut-to-size pieces, as slabs, or as a full contracting package — with lead times planned around the project programme. Direct factory pricing is provided on enquiry, quoted per project from the stone schedule rather than from a list. Because we are part of a wider contract fit-out manufacturer, a property can coordinate its stone with the rest of the project — the kitchens the counters sit in, the spas the hammam stone lines, the lighting that washes a feature wall — and take a coordinated result from one manufacturer. For a brand building several properties, the same stone specification and sourcing can be repeated across the estate for a consistent material signature.

Questions
