Overview
Seating is one of the most-noticed details in a bedroom, yet it is often the last item specified. The hotel guest room chair a guest sits in to work, read, or pull on their shoes shapes how comfortable the room feels — and it shows up in reviews.
“Chair” is a broad word, so it helps to be precise about what belongs in a bedroom. A hotel guest room chair is in-room seating, distinct from lobby, restaurant, and banquet chairs, and built to commercial standards rather than residential ones. Within that category sit several recognised types: the desk or task chair at the work surface, the accent chair as a styled corner piece, the lounge chair for relaxing, and the compact tub and slipper chairs for smaller rooms. Each answers a different guest activity, and the right choice depends on room size, star rating, and whether the property serves business or leisure travellers.
As a contract furniture manufacturer in Turkey, HFC produces every hotel guest room chair to project specification — frame, foam density, upholstery, and finish matched to the room’s casegoods and to the destination market’s fire standard. Hardwood and powder-coated metal frames, fire-retardant foam, and contract-grade fabrics or faux leather are standard. Producing in Turkey keeps freight short for European and Middle East projects, and supplying direct from the Istanbul factory removes the agent markup built into Far East sourcing. The result is hotel guest room chairs engineered for daily commercial use, delivered on a schedule that fits a refurbishment or new-build programme.
How We Work
01
Trade & contract only
We work with hotels, developers, interior studios and procurement teams — not the public.
02
Made to your project
Every piece is built to your drawings, finishes, fire ratings and quantities. Nothing off the shelf.
03
Priced by project
No retail price list and no online shop — each project is quoted from its spec, direct from our factory.
04
Delivered worldwide
We crate, ship and install to site across 40+ countries, on a single or phased schedule.
Chair Types
A clear taxonomy makes specification faster. These are the hotel guest room chair types that recur across hospitality projects, with the guest activity each one serves.
Desk / Task Chair
The work chair at the desk. Supportive back, seat that tucks under the surface, scuff-resistant finish. Fixed four-leg for a residential feel, swivel base for a corporate one.
Accent Chair
The styled corner piece. Sculptural frame, feature fabric that contrasts with bedding and drapery. Armless versions keep the circulation path clear in smaller rooms.
Lounge Chair
The relax-and-read seat. Deeper and softer than a desk chair, with modest arms and a medium-firm cushion. The default second seat in upscale rooms.
Tub / Barrel Chair
A curved, enclosing back in a compact footprint. Placed by a window for the view; the continuous arm-to-back line suits awkward corners and is quick to clean around.
Slipper / Armless Chair
A real seat in the smallest footprint. Specified for compact city rooms, twins, and dressing surfaces where arms would block access.
Reading / Wing Chair
A higher-backed lounge variant with side wings for head support and a sense of enclosure. Suited to suites and boutique rooms with floor space to spare.
Swivel Chair
A rotating seat that adds a contemporary, interactive feel and works where a guest shifts between desk, window, and TV. Common in modern and design-led properties.
Match the chair to the guest, not the catalogue. A city business hotel needs a supportive desk or task chair first; a resort needs a deep lounge chair. Before you choose, look at booking patterns and guest feedback to see what guests actually do in the room — work, read, watch, or simply rest — then specify the seat for that activity.
Chair Type Configurator
Select a type to see where each hotel guest room chair fits, the working dimensions, and how we build it. Every option is made to order in contract specification.
The work chair is the hardest-working hotel guest room chair in any business or city property. It sits at the desk and is used for laptop work, video calls, and applying make-up. For a hotel guest room chair at the desk, prioritise a supportive back, a seat that tucks fully under the work surface, and a finish that resists scuffing where it meets the desk leg. Fixed four-leg frames read more residential and quieter; a five-star swivel base reads more corporate.
At a glance
• Use — desk work, laptop, make-up
• Seat height — 460–480mm to match a 720–750mm desk
• Footprint — compact, tucks under the desk
• Frame — hardwood four-leg or metal swivel base
• Upholstery — wipeable contract fabric or faux leather
Ergonomics & Dimensions
Comfort in a bedroom seat comes down to a few measurements. These ranges work for the widest spread of guests and are the starting point for any guest room chair specification.
Proportion matters as much as the chair itself. The path around the bed, the door swing, and window access set the largest footprint a seat can take. In a queen room of roughly 10×12 to 12×14 feet, a single compact lounge or accent chair plus a side table is usually the limit before circulation suffers. Choose a slim-profile or armless model when floor space is tight, and reserve full-arm lounge chairs and reading chairs for larger rooms and suites.
Specification Guide
Star rating sets the expected seating level. Use this as a quick guide when planning the guest room chair specification across a property.
Materials & Construction
Frame
Kiln-dried hardwood or powder-coated steel/aluminium, depending on the model and look. Joints are glued, dowelled, and where needed corner-blocked for hospitality load. A guest room chair frame is engineered for daily commercial use, not occasional residential use.
Foam & suspension
Fire-retardant high-resilience foam over webbing or elastic-strap suspension. Seat foam density and cushion firmness are specified to the chair type — firmer for desk chairs, deeper and softer for lounge chairs.
Upholstery
Contract-grade fabric, vinyl, or faux leather rated for hospitality traffic and tested to the destination fire standard (BS 5852 / Crib 5, EN 1021, or CAL 117). Removable cushion covers and double-stitched seams are available for longer service life.
Finishes
Frame finishes coordinated with the room casegoods — natural veneer, stained timber, lacquer, or powder-coat in any RAL colour. Legs can be capped with felt or nylon glides to protect flooring.
Customisation
Custom dimensions, frame, foam, and upholstery on every guest room chair. Match an existing chair, adapt a model to a tighter footprint, or develop a bespoke design from a mood board or drawing.
