Overview
The hotel concierge desk is the guest-services station of the lobby — a separate, more personal point of contact from the front desk, and a quiet signal that a property offers a higher level of service. Where the reception desk handles arrival, departure and billing, the concierge desk is where a guest turns for everything beyond the room: a restaurant booking, a car, theatre tickets, a tour, or simply a recommendation. It is a small piece of furniture with an outsized role in how cared-for a guest feels.
HFC manufactures concierge desks to order, together with the wider front-of-house set a full-service lobby needs — the bell desk near the entrance for luggage, the guest-relations station, and the lobby-manager desk. Each is built on the same contract millwork basis as the front desk and coordinated in the same finish, so the front of house reads as one designed environment rather than a set of mismatched pieces.
As a product the concierge desk is specialist and lower-volume than the reception desk — but on a B2B project it is a piece a full-service property genuinely specifies, and supplying it is part of delivering a complete lobby. This page sets out what the hotel concierge desk is, how it differs from the reception desk, where it sits in the lobby, and the wider front-of-house stations HFC builds alongside it.

Station Selector
A full-service lobby has more than one desk. Select a station to see what it does, where it sits and how it is built — then request a quote for the set your property needs.
Guest services · the personal station
The concierge desk is where guests turn for everything beyond the room — reservations, transport, tickets, tours and local knowledge. It is smaller and more intimate than the reception desk: a writing-height surface for one or two staff, usually with a guest chair so the interaction is seated and unhurried, placed where arriving and departing guests can find it easily.
Best for — Full-service, boutique and luxury properties that offer a concierge service and want a dedicated, welcoming station for it, set apart from the check-in queue.

Quote a concierge desk →Specified together: in a full-service lobby these stations are designed as one family — the concierge desk, the bell desk and the guest-relations point all sharing the timber, metal and surface of the reception desk. HFC manufactures the whole front of house to one drawing set and one finish schedule.

Specification Details
Role & placement
The concierge desk serves guest needs that reach beyond day-to-day operations — reservations, transport, tours and local knowledge — and assists guests throughout their stay. It is placed near the entrance and exit, set a little apart from the check-in flow so a conversation can happen without joining the arrival queue, and so it is easy to find. In a full-service lobby it anchors a wider front-of-house group: the bell desk near the portico, a guest-relations station, and sometimes a lobby-manager desk.
Design & dimensions
A concierge desk is usually smaller and more intimate than the front desk because it serves one or two staff and a more personal interaction. A writing-height surface of around 74–76 cm suits a seated concierge and a seated guest; a raised transaction counter of about 107–112 cm can be specified where the concierge stands. Where a guest is served seated, an accessible writing-height surface with knee clearance keeps the station usable for everyone, and a guest chair makes the interaction unhurried.
Construction & materials
Each station is built as contract millwork on a commercial plywood and MDF carcass, finished to coordinate with the front desk. Full carcass, surface and finish detail is set out on the reception desk page; the concierge stations share that specification.
• Surfaces: the same family as the front desk — high-pressure laminate, solid surface, quartz, stone or sealed veneer — sealed with conversion varnish.
• Detailing: integrated storage sized to the role, cable management and power, and discreet feature lighting.
• Branding: integrated signage and logo detailing where the station carries the brand.
The wider front-of-house
A full-service lobby rarely needs only one desk. Alongside the concierge desk, HFC builds the bell desk for luggage near the portico, the guest-relations station for a seated welcome, and the lobby-manager desk for discreet supervision — and can extend to a travel desk or business-centre station where the property needs one. Specifying them together, in one finish, is what turns a row of separate desks into a coordinated front of house.
Why it matters
The concierge desk is a small piece of furniture that does a large job: it tells a guest the property will look after them beyond the room. A mismatched or makeshift concierge station undercuts that message, while a well-made one — coordinated with the front desk and placed where guests can find it — reinforces it at the first point of contact. Sourcing the hotel concierge desk from the same factory as the rest of the lobby is the simplest way to keep the whole front of house consistent.
