Overview
The hotel headboard — also called a bed headboard or bedroom headboard — is the single most impactful piece of furniture in any guest room. It sets the visual tone, drives guest photography, and is the first element a designer specifies when positioning a hotel's tier. At HFC, hotel headboards are manufactured entirely in our Istanbul factory — custom dimensions, custom fabric, custom shape — with no minimum order beyond 20 units.
We manufacture three mounting configurations: wall-mounted headboards — also called wall hung headboards — (fixed directly to the wall, preferred for 4-star and above), floor-standing headboards (freestanding behind the bed, easier to install), and integrated headboards (built into the bed frame as a single unit). Each is available upholstered, padded headboard style, fabric headboard, panel-clad, or in combination materials.
Our hospitality headboards are specified by hotel developers, FF&E procurement managers, and interior designers across Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. All commercial headboards and contract headboard orders carry a 2-year structural warranty and can be produced with EN 1021-1 fire retardant upholstery where required.

Most specified · 4-star and above
A wall mounted headboard is fixed directly to the wall using a French cleat or bolt-through mounting system. The bed sits flush against the headboard with no gap. The floor beneath is completely clear — easier for housekeeping and visually cleaner in room photography.
Best for
4-star and 5-star hotels, boutique properties, any project where photography and guest perception matter. This is the industry standard for upper-midscale and above.
✓ No floor gap — no dust accumulation behind the headboard; easier daily housekeeping
✓ Stronger visual statement — headboard appears to float from the wall
✓ Can extend full wall width for a premium, architectural look
✓ Requires solid wall fixings — confirm wall construction (stud, concrete, or blockwork) before specifying
✓ French cleat system allows removal and reinstallation without re-drilling
✓ Available with integrated reading lights, USB charging ports, and power outlets
✓ Min. recommended height: 1,400mm for 4-star; 1,800mm+ for 5-star
✓ Fabric, leather, wood panel, and combination finishes all available
Installation note
Wall-mounted headboards require a structural fixing point. For drywall/stud construction, specify toggle bolts rated at minimum 15kg per fixing. For concrete walls, M10 anchor bolts are standard. HFC supplies a fixing template with every wall-mounted order.
Hotelier's Tip
Consider choosing wall-hung headboards for your guest rooms. Since housekeeping teams move beds every day to clean underneath them, wall-mounted headboards offer several advantages:
• Less wear and tear from daily bed movement.
• Lower maintenance and replacement costs.
• A cleaner, built-in appearance that stays aligned over time.
• Easier integration of lighting, power outlets, and other guest amenities.
• Improved durability, helping rooms look their best for longer.
• For renovation projects or situations with limited technical coordination, electrical cables can be concealed and managed within the headboard, helping simplify installation and maintain a clean finish.

Specification Guide
Star rating is the most practical framework for headboard specification. Here are the standards used across the industry.
Design Insight
Consider incorporating integrated LED strip lighting into the headboard. The resulting wall-wash effect adds depth to the space while creating a warm, indirect glow that elevates the guest-room experience.
Materials
Hotel headboards combine a structural frame with a surface finish. Both decisions affect durability, lead time, and total cost.

Styles & fabrics
Tufted headboard — buttons or knots pulled through the upholstery creating a diamond pattern. Curved headboard — arched or rounded top profile, increasingly specified at 4-star boutique hotels. Velvet headboard — rich, tactile finish preferred for luxury and boutique properties. Leather headboard — durable, wipeable, popular for contemporary hotel brands. Fabric headboard — broadest material range, contract weaves in hundreds of colourways. Piped edges — contrast or matching piping sharpens the outline. Channel stitch — parallel vertical or horizontal channels giving a modern ribbed texture. Custom upholstered headboard — any shape, any fabric, any stitching pattern, manufactured from designer drawings. All headboards for hotels are specified to contract standards — not residential.
Headboard dimensions guide
Standard hotel headboard dimensions by bed size:
Rule of thumb: a hotel headboard should occupy at least 40% of the wall height behind the bed. In a room with 2,800mm ceilings, a 1,400mm headboard sits at exactly 50% — visually balanced. Below 35% wall height, headboards look undersized regardless of material quality.
FR compliance
Fire retardant upholstery for hotel headboards is required by law in the UK (BS 7177), EU (EN 1021), UAE, and Saudi Arabia. HFC can supply FR-certified fabric meeting EN 1021-1 and EN 1021-2, with test certificates provided. Specify FR requirements at the quotation stage. FR upholstery adds approximately 10–15% to fabric cost but adds no lead time.
Integrated features
— Reading lights — LED arm lights or recessed strip lighting integrated into the headboard frame
— USB / power ports — recessed into the headboard face or side panel
— Bedside shelf ledge — a narrow shelf integrated at the base of the headboard
— Fabric panels extending to ceiling — for full-wall luxury applications
