Overview
The hotel nightstand — also called a hotel bedside table, bedside cabinet, or bedroom bedside table — is the most-touched piece of furniture in any hotel room. Guests reach for it in the dark, place phones and glasses on it, and judge its quality at close range while lying in bed. A poor-quality nightstand with a stiff drawer, wobbling surface, or visible delamination is one of the most-reviewed furniture failures on booking platforms.
HFC manufactures hotel nightstands in three configurations: standard freestanding nightstands on legs or plinth base, floating nightstands (wall-mounted, no floor contact), and built-in nightstands integrated into the headboard or wardrobe unit. Each is available in all surface finishes — LPL MDF, natural veneer, Mattplus, lacquer — with integrated USB charging, cable management, and soft-close drawer mechanisms as standard options.
All hotel bedside tables are manufactured to contract furniture standards in our Istanbul factory. Custom width, depth, height, and internal configuration available from 20 units. Specified height is always confirmed against the room’s mattress specification before production — the single most important dimension for guest comfort.

Nightstand Type Configurator
Select a configuration to see specifications, dimensions, and what to consider for each type of hotel nightstand.
Most specified · all hotel tiers
The most widely specified hotel nightstand configuration. Sits on four legs or a solid plinth base beside the bed. Available with one or two drawers, open shelf, or combination configurations. The freestanding hotel bedside table is the most straightforward to install, replace, and match to other casegoods in the room.
Best for
All hotel tiers — 3-star through 5-star. The most flexible configuration: can be placed on either side of any bed size, repositioned during refurbishment, and replaced independently of other room furniture.
✓ One or two drawers with soft-close Hafele, Hettich or Blum mechanism
✓ Open shelf option for luggage or reading material
✓ Leg options: tapered wood, brushed steel, powder-coated metal, plinth base
✓ Integrated USB-A + USB-C charging module available as standard option
✓ Cable management channel in rear panel for lamp cord routing
✓ Surface dimensions: min. 400×350mm; 550mm width for king-size beds
✓ Available in all casegoods finishes for full room coordination
✓ Matching pair configuration available for twin-bed rooms
Height specification
Always confirm mattress height before specifying. Standard hotel bed: 200mm mattress on 350mm base = 550mm total. Specify nightstand height at 550–580mm so the surface is level with or slightly above the mattress top.

Specification Guide
Star rating determines the specification level for hotel nightstands — from basic functional requirements at 3-star to fully integrated bedside units at luxury level.
Hotelier’s Tip
When specifying integrated nightstands, consider the following:
• Integrating the nightstand into the headboard system creates a clean, coordinated appearance and reduces the number of individual furniture pieces in the room.
• Built-in nightstands provide a convenient location for power outlets, USB charging, lighting controls, and other guest amenities.
• Consider using drawerless nightstands.
• Open shelves improve visibility and can help reduce the likelihood of guests leaving personal belongings behind during checkout.
• Ensure the nightstand is engineered for hospitality use. We recommend a minimum 50 kg load capacity to withstand everyday guest use and ensure long-term durability.
Features & Finishes
Hotel nightstands combine a carcass, a surface finish, and a set of guest-facing features. Each decision affects durability, lead time, and total cost.
USB charging
USB charging is no longer optional in hotel nightstands at 3-star and above. It is one of the most frequently mentioned amenity details in guest reviews. The minimum specification is one USB-A and one USB-C port per nightstand. For 4-star and above, a combined USB and standard power outlet module integrated into the nightstand surface or drawer face is standard. HFC supplies nightstands pre-wired with cable management — your electrician connects on site. Specify USB charging nightstand requirements at the quotation stage as it affects the carcass design.
Drawer mechanism
Soft-close drawer runners are standard on all HFC hotel nightstands — Hafele, Hettich or Blum mechanisms rated for 30,000 opening cycles minimum. Full-extension runners allow access to the full drawer depth. Push-to-open (handle-free) drawer face option available for contemporary specifications. The drawer action is one of the first things a guest tests and one of the most reviewed furniture details on booking platforms.
Finishes
— LPL MDF — melamine-faced, scratch-resistant, 500+ decor options. Best value for 3-star.
— Mattplus — soft-touch scratch-resistant surface. 4-star contemporary alternative to lacquer.
— Natural veneer — oak, walnut, teak. Authentic grain for 4-star and 5-star specifications.
— Lacquer — any RAL colour, matt or gloss. Used for brand-specific colour schemes.
— Solid wood edge banding — matched to veneer species for a premium edge detail.
— Glass top — toughened glass surface, clear or coloured, for a contemporary wipe-clean finish.
— Engineered stone or porcelain top — durable, heat- and scratch-resistant stone-effect surface for premium specifications.
Bedside table types
The term bedside table — or bedroom bedside table — covers a wider range of furniture than the standard hotel nightstand. In hotel specification, three distinct configurations fall under this category: the standard bedside cabinet (drawer + door or shelf, on legs or plinth), the bedside chest (taller unit, 2–3 drawers, higher storage volume — popular in executive and suite rooms), and the bedside shelf (minimal floating shelf without storage, used in compact rooms or when the integrated headboard unit incorporates a shelf). Choosing between them depends on room size, star rating, and storage expectations per guest.
— Bedside cabinet — standard in 3-star and above; 1 drawer + shelf; 450–550mm wide
— Bedside chest — 2–3 drawers; suited to suites and executive rooms; 500–600mm wide
— Bedside shelf — floating, no storage; compact rooms; minimum 350mm wide × 200mm deep
— Integrated bedside unit — part of headboard wall unit; no separate piece
Small nightstand options
Small nightstands for bedroom use — from 400mm width — are available for compact hotel rooms, twin-bed configurations, and cruise ship cabins where space is at a premium. Compact hotel nightstands from 400×300mm are manufactured to order. Floating nightstands are particularly effective in small rooms — their wall-mounted configuration leaves the floor clear, making the room appear larger. For rooms under 20m², a floating nightstand with integrated shelf replaces both a standard nightstand and a separate bedside lamp table.
Complete Guest Room
The bedroom nightstand is part of a complete hotel guest room furniture package. A hotel bedside light or integrated reading light is typically specified alongside the nightstand as part of the bedside package. Every piece below is manufactured in the same Istanbul factory and available in matching finishes.
